UNLV Rebels Athletics

The University of Nevada Las Vegas is known throughout the country for its sports teams. UNLV athletic teams were nickname the "Rebels" as they rebelled against its larger sister school University of Nevada, Reno. In 1974 the sports information director coined the term "Runnin' Rebels" to describe UNLV's basketball team.

UNLV Runnin' Rebels Basketball

UNLV basketball is a NCAA Division I team and they often make it to the exciting March Madness tournament. UNLV is the has the third highest winning percentage in Division I basketball history. Some famous UNLV player who make it pro are: Larry Johnson, Shawn Marion, Marcus Banks, Louis Amundson, Reggie Theus, Keon Clark, Armon Gilliam and Stacey Augmon. Come out to a game at the Thomas & Mack Center and see the Runnin' Rebels play!

UNLV Rebels Football

The UNLV football program is a mid-major program competing in the Division I-A level in the Mountain West Conference. Famous players who went on to play in the NFL are Sam Brandon, Randall Cunningham, Kenny Mayne, Keenan McCardell, Anton Palepoi, Adam Seward and Ickey Woods. Get your tickets to see excellent college football as the Rebels play in Sam Boyd Stadium.

Transportation to UNLV games from MCCarran Airport:

Sam Boyd Stadium
Located in Henderson about 7 miles from the campus.
From the Airport, exit Swenson,
Turn right on Tropicana and continue strait until you reach the stadium.

Thomas & Mack Center/Cox Pavilion
From the Airport, exit Swenson heading north for about 1/2 mile.
Go through the light on Tropicana then turn right into the Thomas & Mack Center parking lot.
The Cox Pavilion is located adjacent to the parking lot.

Athletic Complex on Campus (Baseball, Track, Soccer, Softball, Tennis, Football practice field)
From the Airport, exit Swenson heading north for about 1 mile.
Turn right on Harmon. Athletic complex will be on the 1st left.
