Las Vegas Strip

The Las Vegas Strip is not just a street—it is a Vegas icon. The Strip is the heart of Las Vegas and, rightfully, comes to mind when one thinks of Sin City.

The Las Vegas Strip is a 4-mile-long stretch of Las Vegas Blvd South. Historically, the Strip spans Russel Road and Sahara Avenue, but now it extends south to the equally iconic Las Vegas Sign. Hotels just north of this area (such as the Stratosphere Hotel) and just south (The Luxor) are often spoken of as a part of the Strip.

Getting around the Las Vegas Strip is easy. There are many pedestrian walkways that connect various hotels and keep pedestrians safe from traffic. The Las Vegas Monorail runs just east of the Strip and makes stops at various casinos. Most hotels on the Las Vegas Strip offer free parking and valet parking. Many visitors opt for cabs when traveling on the Vegas Strip as most distances are short and fares are relatively inexpensive. Be warned: traffic does get pretty bad on weekends.

Las Vegas Strip Hotels

There are about 40 different hotels on the Las Vegas Strip. Most of the high-end and most popular hotels in Las Vegas can be found on the Strip. Some of the most popular Strip hotels are the MGM Grand Hotel, Flamingo Hotel, Bellagio Las Vegas, Circus Circus Hotel and Casino, the Luxor, Caesars Palace, Wynn Las Vegas, Venetian, Treasure Island (TI) and Paris Las Vegas. Strip hotels have a lot more than nice beds, though: they are worlds unto themselves and provide a lot of entertainment. Don't worry: you can easily move from hotel to hotel.
