Requirements

Las Vegas wedding license bride and groom.The following requirements must be met in order to obtain a wedding license to be married in the State of Nevada.



  • Those applying must be male and female, 18-years or older, and not nearer of kin than half blood cousins, second cousins and not having a living wife or husband.
  • It's highly suggested for Non U.S. citizens to check with their local officials for special documents that may be required to ensure that their marriage will be recognized.
  • Those that are applying may have to prove their age. Applicants without acceptable identification to prove their age may be refused a marriage license.
  • SSN (Social Security Numbers) are required on the Affidavit of Application for a Marriage License. Know your social security number because applicants that don't may be refused a marriage license. It is recognized that non U.S. citizens will not have a SSN (Social Security Number).

  • In order to have a legal marriage, a ceremony must be performed in the state of Nevada within a year and by a licensed person.
  • Those who are applying and are divorced need to know the exact month/day/year/city and state of their divorce. Their divorce must be final and filed with the courts in the state or country granted.
  • Applicants who are minor and are not 18 years of age must have consent of a legal guardian or parent.
