Based in Las Vegas the International Museum and Library of the Conjuring Arts is David Copperfield's extensive collection of books, props and memorabilia all related to conjuring.

The collection has become a visitor attraction, with thousands of avid fans of both David and magic choosing to visit Las Vegas each year to experience the museum.

David Copperfield is a world-renowned illusionist and magician that gained much publicity for his performances that include penetrating the Great Wall of China, "flying" over the top of the Grand Canyon and making the Statue of Liberty vanish through his illusions.

David began practicing when he was only 12 years old, and by his late teens he was headlining at the Pagoda Hotel, appearing in musicals, teaching magic at New York University and was even a respected member of the Society of American Magicians.

In 1980 David Copperfield starred in a film called Terror Train' in which he played the role of a young magician by the name of Ken.

For much of his earlier career, David appeared on television specials and made guest appearances on television programs that related to the conjuring arts.

David's first pro-bono work started when he founded a rehabilitation program called "Project Magic". This was aimed at helping people regain skills that they were unable to complete through physical impairment.

By 1982, 1000 hospitals worldwide were using the program, whilst the American Occupation Therapy Association accredited the program for full use.

David Copperfield once discussed a magic themed restaurant that would have surely one day had a home in Las Vegas.

The exciting project was to involve an interface feature where David would communicate with his customers remotely, whilst many features such as performing waiters and floating tables were to be a focal point. After issues with his New York venture, David decided to pull the plug on the entire project.

Forbes Magazine estimates David's yearly income at over $50 million dollars, making him amongst the richest celebrities in the world. David Copperfield is reported to perform over 500 shows per annum, meaning that he performs over a show a day on average. Despite this, he still had time to date supermodel Claudia Schiffer for six years, before it ended in 1999.

After this, much speculation and a number of conspiracies arose as to the legitimacy of their relationship. A German newspaper reported that Claudia Schiffer was in fact a contractor of Copperfield, and was paid to appear alongside him.

Adding more interest to an already amazing life, David managed to use magic to avoid being robbed in April 2006, when he used a magic trick known as sleigh-of-hand to hide his possessions.

In August 2006 David purchased an island that he claims offers unique healing powers, which include bringing leaves back to life, as well healing insects. Many predict that this could be the subject matter of his next illusion.

David Copperfield has lived an amazing life, and the Las Vegas Museum helps his many fans remember what he has brought to the world, as well as what the world of magic has brought to David.
