While the glittering lights and chic nightclubs have become the popular spots for tourists on the Strip, those that know a little bit of the city will say that the downtown area is one of the places that shouldn't be dismissed.
The downtown area has recently undergone a face lift in the past several years in hopes of generating more tourists. The Sidebar is the perfect example of what tourists can now expect as they make their way into the area. Situated between the Celebrity Showdown and Triple George Grill, the Sidebar has a primo spot on Third Street. While many Vegas bars has begun to cater to the more upscale clientele, the Sidebar prefers to keep things a little bit more intimate and cozy, in fact if it wasn't for the handful of video poker machines it might be hard to tell that you were in Vegas at all.
With its combination of tan and dark chocolate walls, white booths, rich wooden furniture and subtle mood lighting, its easy to see why the Sidecar is the perfect place for those seeking a more romantic setting.
The Sidebar offers a variety of beers and wines as well as the club signature Sidebar Sidecar which is a little bit of Hennessy mixed with Cointreau and topped with a sugar rim and fresh lemon. Of course you can't survive on drinks alone, that is why the bar also features an extensive appetizer menu. Take your pick of the fried calamari, satay skewers, oysters Rockefeller or desserts such as creme brulee and truffles.
For those that are tired of the same old overcrowded nightclubs or those that have yet to discover the wonders of the downtown area, the Sidebar is the perfect place to start.
