At first a ride that races along at 30 mph doesn't exactly put the fear of God into anybody. Now take into account that this ride dangles riders hundreds of feet from the ground and takes turns at such force that it almost jostles the teeth out of their mouth and what you have got is X Scream at Stratosphere Tower.

Located on the observation deck, X Scream puts riders in an eight person car on a track that is stretched 27 feet over the edge of the tower. While most coasters begin with a slow clickety -clack climb to the top of the hill, the X Scream doesn't work that way. The car is lifted high above the tower and then zooms downward at a 30-degree angle. The ride comes to a screeching and merciful halt for some as you finally make your way back to the station. Just be sure not to look down as you are still dangling over 900 feet above the ground.

For those adrenaline junkies that are always looking for their next thrill ride to conquer, you have just met your next challenge. Just don't be too surprised when the X Scream takes the scream right out of your mouth.
